I have been in the Affiliate Marketing business for over 5 years, I seen a lot and experience so much. I have failed woefully so many times.

1. You can never make money with Affiliate Marketing without an audience
Have you ever heard of "how to make money with Affiliate Marketing without any audience"?
Now let's reason together, if there is no audience, then who is there to buy from you. Internet Marketers and Content creators understands that people love easy methods and magic short cut.
As a result of that, they come up with headlines as such because of the vitality potential.
Even when I was a beginner, I fall for this lie and I regretted badly. For you to make money, you an audience, either your own built audience or tap into the audience from social media platforms with organic or paid adverts.
No audience equals to no sales.
2. Paying money to join Affiliate platforms.
There is this Idea of people paying money before they can join a particular Affiliate program and promote their product.
You do not need to pay money before you can join any Affiliate program. There are over hundreds of Affiliate programs out there that are free.
The only thing you need to spend money on is knowledge, don't joke with this. Except an Affiliate platform is ready to train you make sales then you can pay to join.
Otherwise, no need paying, although some Affiliate programs train their Affiliates for free.
3. Start Affiliate Marketing without investment.
Have you ever made a research on the meaning of investment? You might have heard that you can start Affiliate Marketing without any investment.
Sadly, I am also guilty of writing post on this topic because this attract people. The fact is that, people don't like it when you're telling them the truth.
That's the reason there is a lot of lies in the internet. This is a very popular Affiliate Marketing mistakes that beginners make.
Now let's consider the meaning of investment,
an act of devoting time, effort, or energy to a particular undertaking with the expectation of a worthwhile result
Many of you who tried to make money with Affiliate Marketing without investment, have you made a penny?
Whenever a client tells me, I want to make money without investment, then I see someone who is not serious.
What the person is saying is that, I want to make money online without devoting time, effort, energy or money into the business but expecting profits.

You must invest in mobile data, time, and paying for knowledge from years of experience.
The truth is that you cannot earn without learning.
4. Promoting too many products, and not having a niche.
Having a niche is one thing that is very important in Affiliate Marketing. A niche is a topic your brand is known for.
You can't be talking about relationship, finance, health, agriculture, and natural disaster prevention to one audience.
This is chaos, focus builds momentum while it is killed by chaos. Pick a niche, and pick a product.
You can't be promoting too many products in a niche at the same time. Just one hot selling product is ok.
5. Promoting high commission products instead of high valuable products with demands
As an Affiliate Marketer your work is to research your target audience, find out what their problem is, join Affiliate programs that offers solution to this problem.
And come as a solution to them not just another ripper.
Do not be enticed by high commission, if the product is rubbish please don't go for it. I am not against high commission.
This is great, but the priority should be value before commission you're paid.
6. Shiny objects syndrome
I was fond of this, what does this mean? You were doing a particular business or promoting a particular product, you now come in contact with a new advice or Affiliate Marketing trending updates.
This caused you to change and follow the new trend, leaving undone what you started already.
You come in contact with another update, you abandon the previous strategy. You keep on continuing in this cycle until you break down.
You are always starting and not finishing what you started. Stay with a particular Affiliate Marketing strategy that works for you and do not follow the crowd and trends except following them works for you, then you stick to it.
To know if a particular strategy works for you, you need to implement it for straight 90 days, if you see results, then it is working.
Otherwise, change strategy.
7. Lacking the required skills to excel.
Affiliate Marketing is a business, and not a skill. You cannot Succeed in a business that you don't have the skills it takes to excel in that business.
Many people go into Affiliate Marketing just to make money but don't care about developing their skills.

If you read the preceding paragraphs you will discover that I mentioned analytical skills as one of the skills you need to excel in Affiliate Marketing.
Try out a strategy you have proven to work based on research. Work with it for 90 days, then you should be able to know if it's working or not.
Be very smart to figure out what works and not following trends.
9. Selling to make money without solving problem.
It is often said that money follows value. You cannot be an Affiliate Marketer that lies and promote fake products just to get the cash without caring about the well being of your customers.
The moment lying comes in to your Affiliate Marketing business, your credibility starts dying gradually.
That's why you must have product research skills, you need to promote solutions and people will be more than proud to patronize you.
10. Inconsistency
The fastest way to make money with Affiliate Marketing is vis paid adverts. The other way which takes a little time to build loyal audience which is the best is via organic traffic.
If you have some extra money to spend, go for paid adverts, if not, go for organic traffic which is the best form of traffic.
When I started my Affiliate Marketing I went for organic traffic because I didn't have budget for paid adverts.
I build audience via my social media platforms and blog and research what products is a solution to them and offered it.
Along the way, consistency helped me. If I want to talk about this, it might be a full blog post on its own.
Imagine someone working out in a gym, the first day nothing happens, the second day, nothing, the first month nothing and a little change in the second month.
In the next 6 months to a year, you see a giant change.
That's the power of consistency. Our brain is wired with both Success mechanism and failure mechanism.
The failure mechanism seeks immediate gratification, avoiding deep thinking, smart work, and brutal positive change.
While the Success mechanism can be wired by setting clear goals, and writing them down.
This forces the subconscious mind to push us nearer to our reality being written down.
